Audi PCP

Hi all,

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have a 2015 A3 on PCP and the payments are nearly up and I don't want to keep it or get a new one. I decided to Voluntary Terminate to move to another manufacturer as Audi no longer affordable. I was told by dealer a few days ago that a service was not yet due and the warning light I had on was an error, so on that basis proceeded to Voluntary Termination. Audi are now trying to tell me they wont turn off warning light as the service is actually due. Car is due to be collected later this month.
Can they try to charge me for the service that they now say is due upon collection of the car?
Is there a way of turning the warning alert off as its driving me nuts?
Thanks

You should be able to reset it your self in settings..I also have an audi, and to reset it , i think its as follows

Settings > Car > Oil interval change > scroll down to "Reset warning" > Okay

I must mention though, it is ONLY TEMPORARY if this option is possible, And if it isn't possible, it has to be reset via a programme named "VCDS" Which can only be done via a dealership or a third party with the software.

So do I, But yes http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Reset+2015+audi+a3+oil+light also is a good way of checking lol
  • Thank you I know how to use google.

I did however have two questions in my thread hence why I didn't just google and thought there maybe someone who can provide some insight into more of the terms and conditions issue.

I said google it because there are both You-Tube videos and text descriptions available showing/telling you exactly what to do - which seemed to me the simplest way to discover the method. Note that AFAIK the method only works for the Oil change light not the Inspection/Service due light which can only be reset with VCDS.

In answer to your other question - Yes they probably could charge for the cost to them of a missing service if it wasn't done when it should have been. When you VT, the finance company are entitled to bill you for any costs beyond normal wear and tear so they would probably argue that this includes not having it serviced in time.

Are you within the mileage allowance (pro rata) on the PCP? If not they will try and charge you for any excess miles (pro rata).

BTW Are you actually meaning Voluntary Termination which has a specific definition in relation to HP/PCP/ Conditional Sale agreements or are you talking about handing the car back for the GMFV at the end of the PCP term.

Have you checked what the value of the car is against the settlement on the finance?

It might be that you have some equity in the deal that you are not taking advantage of. My last car was first (and last...) PCP on a Audi S5 and I haggled with a dealer I found through Tootle.com and got them to offer me £1,000 more than the settlement figure. I was 21months into a 24month agreement.
They drove to my house and paid and drove it away.

Easiest sale I've ever done and wasn't far off what I would have asked for as a private sale...
