If you are thinking of securing a loan through Walker and Hammond DON'T!!!! :money:
This is my story. I was looking at used cars and used one of the site's finance calculators to work out my monthly payments if I were to take out a loan to finance the car. Next thing I knew, Walker and Hammond called me up regarding a loan application and eventually talked me into going through the application with them. Once that was done they said I had been approved in 'principle' for a loan of £8,000 over 5 years with an APR of 8.4%. So I said ok. However, they then told me that I needed to pay them an administration fee of £39.99 to draw up the agreements etc. and once I paid it, that it would 'fasttrack' the whole application process and the money would be in my account within 5 working days.
So here I am 2 weeks later and I've just received a loan agreement from a company named FLM. Are you ready to laugh?
The loan amount they have offered me is only £3,000 over 36 months (as opposed to the £8,000 over 60 months I was 'approved' for) and wait for it....this is the bit that made me laugh out loud....the APR on the loan is 53.9%!!!!!! Are they effing joking?! I mean what do they take me for? What sickens me is that some people are desperate enough for the money to go through with it because they need the money. It's disgusting that these companies are taking advantage of people who are already in enough financial trouble.
If there is indeed a God and an afterlife, then the people who run these companies will have a lot to answer to.
As for my £39.99, I think I might just take Walker and Hammond to small claims court. Even if I lose, at least I'll know that I didn't let these !!!!!!!s get away with my hard earned cash without a fight. I will also be reporting them to the Ombudsman.

I don't know much about financial law but on a moral point of view, it would be great if you could see this through and get these parasites back. You are right, people who are desperate or not financially savvy would fall for this. Go for it Sugarbear :dance:Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0

Just now I have finally contacted again Walker and Hammond to issue the refund of my fee as a man told me from the customer services and a quite rude girl kept telling me that I am not entitled to receive any refund! And keeps telling that "they cannot do that" even did not let me talk too much.
How could I get this back? I am thinking to contact court for claiming but the online service is down. If anybody else could give me some advice It would be much appreciated.
Thanks
