My sister in law gave me a pair of two tone gold shoes, I bought a shoe dye and painted it on. They came up really well, so much so when my sister in law complemented me on my shoes, she was most surprised when I told her where I got them from.
I would give it a go.
  • Yes, I have dyed shoes successfully several times.

I bought a pair of bright, pink shoes (the colour of my spider picture). I didn't want pink shoes, but they were the only ones I could get to fit at the time (I am a lady with size 9 feet).

I dyed them blue (so that they ended up a dark purple colour). Since then I have dyed them brown to be more practical (and they are now a purple-tinged brown pair of shoes).

Make sure you wear gloves when dyeing otherwise your hands will be stained. You will need to clean the shoes, apply the dye, and once the dye has dried I always polish in the new colour.

I have always used Dylon dye.

I regularly dye leather shoes, sometimes it is better than trying to polish them.....!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
