Credit search for a DIP?

Quick question, when a lender does a DIP for you, will they do a credit search at that point or when you make a full mortgage application?

Usually a soft or hard search done at DIP and if hard, no further hard search may be done thereafter.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you happen to know whether Leeds Building Society does a soft or hard search for a DIP? Mine was referred but passed and just curious as to whether they will have done a hard search at this point if referred?0
