Does anyone know if there is an upper age limit for having NHS tooth extraction under sedation?

All patients wanting sedation are assessed for their fitness to undergo sedation. Many factors are included, weight, medications taken, kidney, liver ,lung function etc .
In general it is your general health that will count as to whether you can be offered sedation. If there are complicating factors then it may mean you may have to go into a more specialised unit.
Age is generally not a factor in itself but medical conditions and frailty may be.
The medical guidelines are the same in a private or NHS setting.0 -

Thank you. I had been told by "My Dentist" that the age of 70 was an upper limit but I had not been able to find anything online about an upper age limit.0 -
If they are providing sedation at the practice , this may be a practice policy . In practices that do sedation they will only provide this for the fittest, healthiest patients to make it as safe as possible. Anyone who doesn't fit into this group may well be referred into hospital service.
You may be able to get sedation for a tooth extraction but they may be happier to refer you onto a hospital setting .0
