Anyone had a Clydesdale mortgage application?

Yes if it's currently a residential mortgage, and is being remortgaged to Clydesdale on a Buy to Let basis, they would require a full valuation to be done.
If it was residential to residential they would have proceeded with the driveby / automated valuation, assuming the value was 500,000 or less.0 -

Hello!
Firstly thank you for the really helpful information!
I currently have a mortgage application with Clydesdale bank and have been told by the MB that they ‘are willing to lend subject to underwriters checking all of the documents’. I think this is good, or is it just a holding response? I’m a FTB so not sure what this means. I have a default on my credit record (British Gas kept charging me after I moved out of a property and I only found out twelve months later) so the MA said Clydesdale would be a better options.
Other than the default (which in my view is erroneous, but the appeals process at BG is taking forever) my credit is ok, I have a 30% deposit and a permanent high paid job so I’m hoping this will work in my favour.
Application only formally went in on Friday, I’m worried sick about it all.
Good luck everyone. Really hope you get your offers/ properties sorted out!0 -
Hi
The valuation happened 1.5 months ago in my case. My application has been with CB underwriter for more than 4 weeks now. I get asked a bunch of questions each week. More than 50% of the questions are a repeat now.
I have 3 sources of income, so was referred to CB by the MA. Plus I have existing mortgages.
However, with each passing week, stress is increasing and hopes are decreasing.
Does anyone have an experience wherein CB took very very long?0 -
Hello,
I just signed up to this forum specifically to add to the complaints about Clydesdale. In our case we are now two months in and getting nowhere fast. They seem to have lads of additional fire safety questions for blocks of flats even though its only a three storey building and no cladding at all and the surveyor/valuer they use have already signed it off with no issues at all.
If you can possibly avoid using them then I would!0 -
I thought I would add that after two and a half months the mortgage offer finally got made. We spent a month in a loop of Clydesdale referring the fire risk assessment to the surveyors, and e-surv bouncing it back to them. This is what was actually going on:
Clydesdale kept referring the fire risk assessment back to the surveyors (e-surv) who kept responding saying the building was fine from their perspective (low-rise, of brick construction and no cladding) and it was not their process to review fire risk assessments, and that was a Clydesdale (only) internal requirement for buildings with more than 3 flats in them.
I managed to speak to the surveyor from e-surv directly who was super helpful and said he thought that a) Clydesdale needed to internally review as per their own process (which the underwriter/BDM didn't seem to know) and then b) once they accepted the fire risk assessment they needed to ask e-surv to move the valuation back to their valuation from the £0 in the system that Clydesdale had told them to amend it to in the first place when one of their safety questions wasn't answered satisfactorily in their view. We explained this to the BDM through the mortgage broker and lo and behold a few days later the mortgage was approved.
