Still no mortgage offer letter in post

Good afternoon all

Last Wednesday we were told our mortgage had been signed off by senior underwriter and we should receive Mortgage letter in post by Friday or Monday. Monday came and nothing. Ma rang them and they said it will be sent out by end of Monday
Stil nothing and had today's post.

Problem we have is we were due to sign our new tenancy contract months ago and we haven't and letting agents are now threatening to evict us.

We've not seen anything from lender to say we've definitely got the mortgage only going by what our MA has said. Yes not said he's got an email or any proof.

Is this right? Lenders KR

I just don't feel completely safe giving our notice in to letting agents until we see written proof.
Altbo they are apparently issuing us an eviction notice today as we are so far over due and they've been chasing for weeks now and we keep putting them off

Any help wou lf be great

Thanks you

Why don't you just call your lender direct and ask? They can either tell you a yes or a no and let you know if they have sent an email to your broker? Or call your broker? That's what they are there for

Why would you not be allowed to? It's YOUR mortgage, not your mortgage advisors

Just as a side note (and apologies if I've missed something here), most people would want to wait until they have exchanged contracts before giving notice to their landlord. Getting the mortgage offer is only one step, there's often plenty more that can cause delays after that. (For us, it took around 4-5 months from mortgage offer to exchange).

FWIW I get the feeling that it's a case of the OP's fixed term has expired, and the letting agency are not happy with it going to a periodic tenancy.

When we were renting our LA was one of the ones that did that, as they advised us every year that if we didn't renew our contract (and pay them a wedge to do so) they would have a Section 21 issued as soon as the tenancy went periodic.

To the OP: If this is the case, the worse that the agents can do is issue a Section 21 notice. All that is, is a 2 month notice that they will begin proceedings to evict (it needs to go through the courts before you can be evicted). Once it goes to court (which could be weeks after that, you can attend and explain to the judge that you're in the process of buying a house, and IMHO it would have to be a pretty mean spirited judge who would let the possession process continue.
