New Job with a CCJ, help?

I have recently been accepted to work in a call centre job and will be due to start in the next few weeks, i have passed the interviews, tests and assessment centre. I have accepted the offer, and just need to wait for them to do their checks on their side.
Here's the issue - i have a CCJ. Around £300 is left to be paid but i have not been able to afford to pay it off as of yet, what should i do? Wait for them to get back to me with their results or tell them outright i have one? Not once did it state online about having a CCJ, nor did anyone mention it in person when i went to the assessment centre. I am really keen to start this job and dont want to be held back by this.

I doubt very much it'll have any impact at all unless you're in a cash handling position or working in the financial sector. If they didn't ask they're not interested. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

For such a small sum of money, can you not ask friends and family or pawn/sell some stuff? It seems the most logical step, but it's not always so simplistic.
However, since it's a call centre job, they might not even care about the CCJ? It's part of a credit check anyway, they're not lending you money to work for them I hope! Unless you're giving out financial advice over the phone, I cannot think of a reason for them to care about your CCJ enough to bother looking for it. It would be a bit uncommon or unusual for a company outside of the financial / money lending sector to be bothered running credit checks on a potential employee that's going to be answering a phone for them. They want somebody that can chit chat, the CCJ is your private business.
If they're a decent enough company, they would at least call you and talk to you about it if they have concerns but will probably still hire you to give you a chance. In my opinion, you're not being dishonest by withholding information about your CCJ when it's not particularly relevant to the job you're waiting to start.
A CCJ is not that uncommon, chances are your potential new employers have had a few difficulties themselves in life! I don't think it would be very rational to penalise you for it. Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes, I think you're probably just nervous and anxious and need to get some rest and believe in yourself more.
That's what I think anyway.

I have no idea why a call centre would credit check you? Are you sure you're not confusing this with reference checks? I can't say I've ever been credit checked by a prospective employer, even in jobs that do handle money (though not in the financial sector).Know what you don't0

Financial sector based companies will credit check you whether in a frontline or call centre role.
Normally where a credit check is going to take place they would ask you to declare CCJs prior.0
