Tiring as you grow okder

i'm interested in the theory that one automatically tires more quickly as one grows older and wonder how tired people get as they age?
What time does the average, 60, 70 or 80 go to bed?
Do they find themselves falling asleep in the armchair in the early evening? Is the loss of energetic automatic as you grow older?
Interested in other peoples' experiences.

Parent is 80, and healthy aside from the usual blood pressure type things. She goes to the gym most days.
She has recently been getting very frustrated by how quickly she gets tired and that she can't walk as far as she used to. That's been a slow decline that's crept up on her over the last few years rather than a sudden change. She nods off in the afternoon but then tends to wake up earlier so sleepwise the pattern has changed rather than the amount.
There are the exceptions who still run marathons at 90, but they're definitely not the norm. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I am 53 and always tired but i rarely have uninterrupted sleep for a variety of reasons , my 75 yr old parents have way more energy than i do !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I’m 55 and I have less energy than I used to. However I have more stamina than many youngsters as I am fit. Cells become less efficient at producing energy as you age, muscles become less effective etc but exercise helps counteract much of the decline. Do stretches to keep yourself agile, get your heart going to keep it fit, it’s all one can do.0

I am 66 and find I get tired fairly easily. That is not just age but diabetes even though my blood tests show it is well managed
OH is 70 and we both often fall asleep in the evenings which affects our ability to sleep through the night.
We have both found that since we retired we are a lot less active and this doesn’t help.0
