Thank you for your reply. Definitely no extension, it is just a small property, no additional work undertaken. They have said he can appeal but I have already provided all the relevant information. I'll do the appeal for him in the meantime but the MP suggestion is a good one - thank you.0

Quick question as I'm new to this -
My street are mainly Band E with some Band F because presumably they had already been extended by the early 90s.
Both my neighbours have loft conversions and brick built extensions downstairs, one has back and side extension but they are the same as me - Band E.
Is that right that people who have extensions after 1991 should pay the same as me despite having at least one extra bedroom and bathroom and much larger kitchens etc?
One also still has the garage in their garden.0 -

I was paying CT for over 2 years when I had moved out and lived with my parents (in 1997 - 1999) for medical reasons (until I moved to a new property closer to my parents (in a different area))I did still own the property but, obviously, was not using local bin collections, roads etcCan I claim a refund ?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -

If the property was still furnished, it is counted as still being occupied. If it was unfurnished then some councils would give a discount for 12 months, but would need to have seen the property at the time.
CT is a property tax and not a payment for servicesIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1 -
Just an observation. I lived in a 1 bed flat in what was considered a luxury development. It was classed as Band D. I know live in a 2 bed groundfloor flat with a lovely garden. It is classed as Band B. I wish I had known about re-banding back then, as I would definitely would have tried.0
