Can I get a new mortgage with a fixed term contract?

Morning all

Just looking for a bit of help.
I currently have a mortgage with Nationwide, held for 2 years so far.
I have just started a new job, with a much higher salary than my previous role, but it is initially a fixed term contract for 12 months. My employer has said it is likely I will be taken on further after the 12 months but cannot guarantee it at the moment.
This is my first fixed term contract, I have always had continuous permanent employment in the past in the same line of work/industry, with no gaps between jobs.
The new role is with a really good company and due to the much higher salary and experience I would gain, was too good to pass up.

Is there a chance I would be eligible for any mortgages out there? I was also hoping to use the HTB Wales scheme which would limit the amount of lenders available anyway.

Thanks

Thanks, just searching for a broker at the moment.

Just wanted to see if anyone thinks there is a possibility of me finding a lender or if it's very unlikely, I would hate to waste the brokers time if my circumstances are considered high risk.

Limited lender options, but should be okay.

I would say you have a very good chance of getting a lender given your employment history. I work as a contractor and had no issues.

As Kingstreet says, lender options will be limited but there are lenders out there that will look at this especially if the new contract is in the same line as your previous long term employment.

Get a decent broker on it.
