First time buyer questions! & AIP Barclays

Hi,
I reserved a new build July 2018 under shared ownership which is due to be ready June 2019. My mortgage application will go in next month, however plumlife have suggested instructing solicitors and conveyancing straight away - I’m unsure that these mean? Will I need to pay out for this sooner rather than later?
As a first time buyer I really don’t understand the terms or process and don’t really want to be emailing and ringing my broker to ask little questions like this?
Also as the title says, I’ve got a AIP with Barclays through my broker, I’m pretty worried about the decision on full application, does anyone have any experiences with Barclays & there acceptance criteria?
Thankyou

wait for mortgage offer first, otherwise you will waste money if you don't get it, on conveyancer fees"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

You can contact a solicitor with your case if you wish, but ask them not to start any work until you receive your Mortgage offer.0
