I think I’ve read that you can only make settlement offers on accounts that have been sold on, is that right?
We’re awaiting CCA and settlement offers from our credit card accounts which have all been passed on. In the meantime we have a Barclays Bank account overdraft which is a closed account but still with Barclays. Are we able to offer a settlement on that one?

Hi,
You can make an offer to settle any old debt, most companies will give some discount.
Current consumer credit act debts that have not defaulted, are excluded as they still have the agreement for full payment in force.
