I’ve recently started to pay back my debts after years of burying my head in the sand.
I don’t know if I’ve gone the right way about it so any tips or advice would be fab to clear it off ASAP!
Income: £2034pm
Debts:
Girlfriend: £700 - paying back £350pm (Mar/Apr)
Next - £1473.89
Aqua - £1056.92
SafetyNetCredit - £563.91
Very - £467.40 (currently paying back £25 via Lowell)
RBS - £514.36 (overdraft needing paid back due to switching banks)
CapitalOne - £150
Oasis - £36.44
LaRedoute - £30
Outgoings:
Rent inc. all bills and share of food & fuel: £750pm
Phone: £51
Gym: £45
Netflix: £5.99
Spotify: £9.99
I’ve cleared about £5k of debt in the last year but I’m really feeling low about still not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve worked hard in my job to earn a decent salary but not able to enjoy it and the respectable drudgery is as depressing as it sounds. On the other hand I’m grateful to be able to pay back the debts I got myself into but it’s just hard and soul destroying.
Any tips on how to blast these debts would be great!

You'll get more specific advice if you fill in a full SOA - there's a link on here somewhere. It can help to show where any surplus you should have but don't might be going to.
Also the interest rates for the loans for advice as to which one to along the most money at first. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You have got this!!
Your income is decent for the amount of debt you have got. If you put all your energy into it then in 3 or 4 months time you are free!
My advice would be to clear the smaller ones first and pay the minimum on the larger ones then concentrate on smashing the larger ones, one at a time.0 -
Hello,
I would pay La redoute, Oasis and the ovedraft. Then the cc with the highest APR1st goal: 0/936 euros
2nd goal: 0/15160 euros0 -
Thanks guys - appreciate this.
There is another mountain to climb this year - facing my HMRC hell. I have REALLY buried my head in the sand with that and I know I’m in for a rough ride but if I get rid of the rest of the debt it will make things a BIT easier 0
