I work for a small software house and have done for quite a few years. I realise that working for a small company comes with its downsides one of which isn't getting paid. A while back we had a couple of hard years meaning that I was getting a bit of money not my full wage or sometimes nothing at all. We managed to turn the corner somewhat and a verbal aggreement was made between myself and my Boss that back pay would be paid as and when. I always wanted this in writting as proof of our agreement, some 7 years later I'm still waiting for my money and a written agreement. I feel stuck in this job as with the written agreement I have no proof of money owed, also I think that if there gave me this letter I would move on.

I could really do with this money as it would help with a desposit and aslo clear my debits.

I have tried talking to them but I always come away with out anything being agreed.

What do you think my next steps should be?

Find another job!

Have you any proof that they didn't pay you for the hours you worked? i.e. payslips and timesheets etc.
