Joint basic account without linked to partner
Nevermore
Hello,
I have been discharged 3 months ago. I am with a new partner, who knows all about my bankruptcy and is very understanding. We want to move in together and open an account for rent payents, bills etc. But obviously I don't want him to be linked with me as that would not do him any good for his own credit rating.
I havent been able to find a bank to open a joint account where you don't get linked. We just want a basic account and two debit cards so we can both have access to it and make payments.
Does anyone know of any solutions?
Looking into Monzo, but you get financially linked. Revolut offers multiple debt cards but only in the name of main account holder. Dont know if any of the big banks offer a solution?
Thank you!

I doubt that there is product on the market that does that. Logically, how could that product exist?
I think the best you can do is one of you set it up and you both have access to the online banking/multiple cards0 -
I think multiple cards would create a link.0

Just out of curiosity why do you need a joint account. My husband and I have never had one. I just pay the bills and he sends a set amount over each month to cover his percentage of the share. Could that not work for you?0

No - I meant multiple cards in the one persons name - so they could both have a card to the account even though only one name is on it. Not sure how the bank would feel about that or even if they would let you have more than 1 active card per account but its an option/risk the one name would have to take.unforeseen wrote: »I think multiple cards would create a link.0 -
Partner A has all the outgoings out of there account and partner B transfers a regular amount to cover all those bills and then you don’t get linked. I still do this with my husband of 5 years we don’t need a joint account, I don’t see the benefit.0
