Letter to landlord, 3 months into BR, help

Hi there
So 3 months into bankruptcy my landlord - or more the person I pay rent to, has received a letter asking him to provide details of my rent. There was no specific deadline to reply, only to fill in the details and send it back to them.we had a verbal agreement for me to stay there, and he is worried it will get him into trouble if he is found out to have me staying there. Basically, I'm just a lodger. He is not phased about the bankruptcy. No telling off/moral comments required, I just need to know the following..
Are they interested in any of this? or is it just to find out I am not benefitting in any way financially from living there? Can anyone shed light on this? I would rather move out and couch surf then get him into any trouble, but I'm also wondering if it is just merely a bureaucratic thing to add to my file, and I need not worry. Please help. Very worried.

It's a number to add to the list. The thrust of the question is to understand your finances e.g. if you are paying £1000/month for a sofa, then they might want you to find a cheaper sofa.
It's about the number and them being able to justify to others that the amount is reasonable.
Though it won't apply to you but there are examples where an "enhanced" rental is paid and the "enhancement" is paid back to the renter in cash. There are slippery people out there.Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.
The law is like an ocean - have a swim but don't drown.0 -
other than discussed some ways your landlord could get into trouble
- with mortgage company if he doesn't have permission to let, although given your just a lodger probably less of an issue
- council, if hes claiming single person council tax relief
- insurance, bits of his insurance could be no longer valid
I don't see the OR being very bothered by any of the above TBH, and they all apply regardless of you being bankrupt0 -
They’re bound to just be evidencing your expenses.0

Yes I had a feeling it was just to see if my expenses matched up to my SOA. Just found it strange that it arrived after 12 weeks, I had a sudden flash of anxiety like I was being monitored in some way. Paranoid I know. Stress of last year really got to me.0

it arrived after 12 weeks,
I think this says more about the staffing issues and service levels from the OR than it does about your natural concerns after a period of high stress.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)
