Thanks cloud_dog. Just looking at my funds now, I see they are heavily weighted in UK/US stocks. Maybe I could have more exposure to global emerging markets. My circumstances atm mean I can take a certain amount of risk..mortgage paid, no kids (may or may not change), low outgoings and time in the market.0

It is expected for global funds to hold a significant percentage of the US, they produce over 50% of the worlds GDP after all (if my memory serves me).
Part of the reason I prefer the HSBC Global Strategy funds over the likes of VLS is that they have a lower percentage in the UK (more reflective of the UKs global production). They also have (depending on the version) over 10% exposure to global emerging markets and 5% exposure to property (in addition to the bonds / cash exposure).
Please do not take this as a recommendation for the HSBC funds, this is not my intention, I am simply using this as a vehicle to explain my rationale, my preference, and why this fund is more aligned with my preference than VLS, for example.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
