New facebook account?

Hi all,
Just wondering what you all do for FB/Twitter/IG Competitions.
I know there's some good comps out there, but don't want to clog up all my friends news feeds, what's your views on making a new FB account for comping? Just don't want to be rejected from competitions when they realise it's a pretty dud account.

Facebook terms and conditions state that you must only have one genuine Facebook account, if found out to have multiple accounts, you may get both of them closed without warning.
I use my actual Facebook account, I only enter the comment, like, tag competitions and have a couple of people I can tag. I do not participate in most of the sharing competitions, not only is it against Facebook terms and conditions to even ask for likes, shares or tags, it can also get the person who is sharing banned for a certain amount of time on Facebook, as well as annoying all of your friends by sharing all the time.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
I don't really do Facebook comps, unless it's an app. The problem with Facebook is even though you choose not to share the comp it will still tell all your friends "Jimmybob likes oopsy Incontinence pants" ... so I just don't bother with them at all.
As far as having a comping account; With Twitter, I've probably entered 5 twitter a day for about 3 years (comping only account) and never won a thing, and when some of those RT comps have less than 1000 entries, odds-wise, there's something not right. So if you have a "comping only" account, then I do think they look at that and re-draw a "real" winner. I can only speculate on that, since technically that would be against ASA rules, but to have not won a thing doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
So, in answer to your question, In my opinion, it's fine to have more than one account (Although it is against the rules, I don't really think Facebook care, they get to say they've got 50,000,000,000 users which raises their profile and value ... about a quater of the pages on Facebook are for pets (my dog has a page), which is also against the rules as you're supposed to set up a group for your pets if you want them to have a page. So, it's up to you, it'll only get blocked if someone complains about it and even then I'm sure they've got better things to do, but a comping only account with comping friends may not actually get any wins.0 -

I think that unfortunately makes a lot of sense! I've also never won a RT comp and I've been comping on/off since 2012. I don't post anything else on my twitter.
OP: For facebook, I create a 'group' to share with. It's called 'Friends*' and has a couple of people I know don't mind. I would never share all comps with all my friends. However I also have a fake account from years ago too which I use as my 'tag a friend'.
I'm quite new at the IG comping and don't know who to tag. I'm wondering if the answer is to ask on somewhere like here for 'tag' friends.Best 2021 wins: 48 bottles of cider, £200 John Lewis Vouchers, £100 Currys vouchers0 -

Lots of FB comps are from small sites or even individuals so they may be selective in their "random" choice and the prizes are usually small anyway (£100 or less) so I don't clutter my timeline with them. Having won £1,000s with my only account being a comping one I don't think there is any "re-draw" issue with decent sites.
Like FB and TW there is a thread on here for IG

Don't do it. There's a rabid group on FB who hunt for compers with more than one account because they have nothing better to do. For me personally, I don't think you shouldn't have two anyway. You can just get friends to unfollow you and their feed won't get filled up with competitions.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

Share it to a group. "FB Compies!" doesn't mind how many are shared in there. I think it's for that purpose (and you can go look for comps there if you like, but be prepared to find lots of dupes).
If local, I'll say so as I'm sure people won't want to waste their time entering, and the comp organiser will be peed off to have loads of non-locals entering if it's for a meal or something.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0
