Discharge of mortgage fee

Is a discharge of mortgage fee the same as an exit fee 
If so could i claim this back?? i paid 250 last month to northern rock

There is no rule saying you are able to claim back a discharge fee.
The FSA ruling is that the lender shouldnt charge any more than what was on the offer letter of the contract you last signed or if it wasnt on the offer letter, what the fee was when you agreed the mortgage.
