You have a very naive and simplistic view of how much admin is involved in running a pension scheme. You've also completely missed the point that providers can't give advice because the law doesn't allow them to do so.
Instead of stamping your feet in frustration and blaming everyone else for anything you can think of, do a bit of reading/googling and you might have a better grasp of things.
As for the TV analogy - you're the one looking at the picture and if you don't like it, why aren't you looking elsewhere?0 -
If I am paying for a fund to be managed then that is what I am paying for . If it’s not making money then I should be contacted and given advise accordingly, it’s up to me if I take that advise but to have zero advise is not acceptable. If you are paid to manage a pension then you have a duty of care to do exactly that.0

The company provides the pension so my hands are tied there otherwise yes I could opt out but lose the 3% which they put in. No I am not nieve and manage 50 staff thank you ! However pensions is not my forte...but if I pay for professional services then that is what I should get. Again you say that they can’t offer advise so who exactly is meant to offer this seeing as they take the cash? You can’t blindly take cash for years and years, stick it in a selection of funds...which YOU as a pension provider advised on day ONE ( yes advise by the pension company given on day one...I HAVE A GOOD MEMORY) ignore the performance for 25 years and then say you need to go somewhere else for advise? Sorry but this does not add up.0

And Aegon will have a fund range that handles the investments. If it’s not making money then I should be contacted and given advise accordingly, it’s up to me if I take that advise but to have zero advise is not acceptable.
You are not paying for that. So, why do you think you should get it?If you are paid to manage a pension then you have a duty of care to do exactly that.
You are mixing up responsibilities.
and you are.but if I pay for professional services then that is what I should get.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
