Lowell & Lucas Credit Services advice
Slea2019
Good Afternoon everyone I hope your all well I’m just looking for some advice please if possible regarding Lowell Financial & Lucas Credit Services.
I have had 2 x lowell debts from 2014 pop up on my credit reports back in 2018 defaulted from British Gas from a previous property one gas and the other electric. I started receiving letters around October 2018 with discount offers etc from Lowell and after reading fourms etc it looked like a good idea to simply wait it out for a better discount offer or to see if they just go away.
My last letters from them was in January 2019 with a 60% discount offer on the £86 balance and a 50% one on the £416 balance. I was actually going to accept this amount and pay it with this months wages until today.
I’ve logged into the Lowell account system to make the payments to find the both accounts are there but the option to pay removed stating the accounts are now with Lucas Credit Services and I have to deal with them directly.
I’m really unsure what the difference is between both companies and how do you suppose i now deal with Lucas Credit Services ? Will they allow me the option to use the discounted offers or will I now have to pay charges on top of the original amount ?
Any help would be very grateful to get these off my back once and for all
Best regards

Hi,
Lowell own the debts, but have farmed them out to Lucas to manage.
The offers should still be available, write and ask, if not, ignore Lucas and wait till Lowell take them back.
Once a consumer credit act debt defaults, no further charges or interest can be added unless the original contract allows for it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
