Shop Not Displaying Prices

My local store & Post Office has a nasty habit of not displaying prices on the goods that they sell.
The don't have a price on the items & don't have a shelf edge price on most of the stuff they sell.
It is really annoying when you get to the till & they scan the item & it is £2.00 more that you thought it should be.
I wonder what the law is on pricing of goods in a shop ??
I don't shop there now for that very reason.

They are committing an offence by not having the prices shown.

Shops have to display prices on the products or nearby under Price Marking Order 2004.

However, have you tried discussing it with the shop directly? Quite possibly it will be better received then to go in all guns blazing. They may genuinely not be aware of the requirement or that it is an issue for their customers.

Apart from anything else, Trading Standards may be more swift if you have asked them and they have refused. There is usually some allowance - even in large supermarkets you will find missing tickets.

Half their lines have no price on.
