NHS Pay Increase from Band 5 to 6

Can anyone help me understand what my new wage will be in the NHS. I have worked for the NHS for 18 years now.
Currently I am top of Band 5 point 23 and my yearly wage currently is £29608.00.
I have applied for a job at band 6 and was successful in interview and my contract starts 1st April 2019
I do not understand at what point i will go in at. Normally before the NHS wages was reformed I would start at Band 6 point 24. Is this correct? Or do I go straight into Top band 6 as I have worked for the NHS 18 years.
I hope someone can help me make sense of it.
I had a letter from HR stating that my salary will be worked out when i give them proof of years I have worked for the NHS.
Thank you in advance. Never posted here before but read a lot of good tips and advice form you guys in the past.

You should port across to the point on band 6 above the salary your currently on. Confirm with you're union.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

“Staff promoted to a higher band within the NHS will enter the new pay band at the minimum of the band or the first incremental point of the new pay band that gives them an increase in salary. Initially staff will be paid on the minimum of the band until confirmation of previous salary has been received“0

You will start at the minimum of the Band 6, unless your current salary is higher than that minimum.
I've checked the payscales and from the 1st April the Band 6 minimum is £30, 401. As that's above what you are earning now, that's what they will put you on.0
