Have I Purchased A Valid Ticket?

I am planning a trip to London from the South West in August travelling by train on GWR. Everything I have read and advice from an earlier post lead me to believe advance tickets go on sale approx 12 weeks in advance.
I set a reminder on Trainline for when tickets go on sale but was surprised last week to be told my journey was now available. I duly went to the GWR site and purchased outward tickets at a great price but the return journey showed only prices about ten times higher. Trainline have since notified me the return leg is on sale but still at those crazy prices and likewise on GWR.
I am now worried the outward tickets I have paid for and confirmed aren't valid as it's still months away from when they should be released. Has anyone advice to offer please?

1. Never buy tickets from Trainline. Why pay a booking fee when you can get the same tickets at the same prices from other sites without paying a fee.
2. Impossible to say if what you've bought is valid since you've give us no information about them.0 -

I do say that they were purchased from the GWR site, not Trainline! I read Martin's guide of course
The tickets are from NTA to Paddington on 3rd August. But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0 -
Normally advance tickets go on sale 12 weeks or so before the date of travel. However, looking at the GWR site, it seems they are selling advance tickets for August 2019.
We can't tell you for sure what ticket you have bought, but it could well be an advance ticket. If advance tickets for the date you want to come back are not yet on sale, all you can do is keep checking the GWR website every few days.0 -
It may well be for the particular return journey date advanced ticket sales haven't been released due to expected changes to service which haven't been confirmed - especially if the return is a weekend - or GWR have simply released tickets to Paddington early.
To test this see if there are advanced tickets available from Paddington to NTA the day before and after the day you wish to travel. If not it may be the tickets from Paddington won't be available until 12 weeks out.0 -

NTA is Newton Abbot, yes?
Doubt you can get advances already for August, Are you sure you've not bought a walk on ticket?
What price did you pay? And did you have any discount card?
Do you see the tickets you've bought here?
