How to access funds after account frozen

Hi all, having recently gone bankrupt my accounts are frozen (except the one I opened after). The OR has shown no objection to me keeping the accounts and has released any funds in them back to myself with the ultimatum of whether they remain open or not down to the bank.

One of the accounts is due a payment going into it in a few days, although I have changed the bank account it is paid into it aparantly takes 28 days to take affect, so this payment will likely go into the old account.

The account it is going into is a current account with Santander, there is no overdraft on the account and I do not hold any debts with Santander. With the account being a standard current account I am assuming it will be closed and just wanted to know what the process is for getting the funds out of the account in this situation. I'll take the assumption it may take a few weeks to actually get this payment.
I may be wrong sometimes, I learn a little every time I'm corrected.

Hi there. This thing with bank accounts can cause a lot of inconvenience in the first couple of weeks after BR, usually because the banks are incredibly slow to process the letter from the OR saying they have no interest. My husband had an account with Santander which they insisted on closing depite no interest from OR but it did take them a couple of weeks to actually cease the account so he had time to move the funds out of it into Nationwide. Have you spoken to Santander? On a different thread I see Annie35 has been allowed to keep her Santander account so maybe you will too.

They may well surprise me and let me keep it, with it not being a basic account my hopes are low though (not that it matters much as I plan on closing this account after everythings transferred from it). Thankfully with a bit of forward preparation I have enough cash set by to last a few weeks so should be fine waiting a little while. I've not spoken to Santander yet, the tax credits payment is due to go in on Wednesday so I'll wait and see if they have managed to transfer the account early before contacting Santander.

    Thank you.
