In peoples experience what kind of offer to DCA's accept as a final offer, if at all?
Any rules of thumb, for example a percentage of what is owed?
How would you go about it - get a letter from them confirming it etc?

In my experience most are willing to accept 75% minimum to write a debt off as a full and final settlement but I have read many threads from those who are much better at haggling than I am and they have managed to get much better settlement figures than I was ever brave enough to ask for.Debt August 2007 - £38,204.58 - Completely Debt Free - May 2008 - Now Proudly Saving.

You must get a letter from them confirming the offer of a FULL & FINAL SETTLEMENT. Nothing else will do.
In addition you must also get agreement that your Credit Reference Files will be marked to indicate that the debt/account is SATISFIED with a £0 remaining balance.
