Car trouble

I know there's been a few threads concerning cars, so sorry, but I need help.
I became bankrupt at the end of august, everythings going well, and my payment agreement is affordable.
my problem is this.
during feb I pretty much destroyed my then g/f's car. she couldn't afford to repair it and as I owed her close to £2000 she agreed to pay me the difference of the market value of mine, approx £1500.
at the time bankruptcy wasn't an issue, then quite rapidly my financial status took a nose dive and after consulting the CAB and the National Debtline they convinced me to contact the local court regarding bankruptcy. I did and they then advised me it was the way to go.
so, i looked into it. then in july my g/f and I got married, obviously not the wedding she had hoped for but the best we could do, thanks to help from her parents.
the bankruptcy hasn't affected us too much, except now the OR is saying my wife has to make an offer for the car or we will lose it. it is our only mode of transport, we work in different directions from home so she has to take me to work, then go herself. most of all, she can't reliably get to work without a car.
what can we do? she has effectly paid for the car and the OR wants her to make an offer, they wont stipulate a figure.
will they accept anything? a low offer?
I feel so bad as 'my' bankruptcy affects her enough and it's nothing to do with her!!
help? any advice would be very much appreciated.
thanks
Steve

I am assuming the car is worth about £1500. Have you had it valued recently? What evidence do you have of the accident and state of car and the transaction? How did you broach the OR about the matter of the car?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
