Waiting for prizes

I was told I won a competition on 9/1/2019 up to day have not received it. The last email I got said that they would be intouch about the prize soon that was 10 days ago. How long should you have to wait to get information of the delivery of the prize and how soon after being told you won should have it delivered. Also is the anything I can do as I feel that I have been scammed and conned. The people doing the prize have published my details as the winner.

  • Unless it is time sensitive i.e gig/show tickets the general rule of thumb is after 28 days to give them a polite nudge

If they have told you they have dispatched it and you haven't revived it then yes I would message them

Do you have the name of the company you won with, most of us can then tell you if it seems genuine

Is this the Kitchenaid you won from Delia?

Have you actually asked them what the position is and when you can expect delivery?
  • The competition was from delia online. It was for the Kitchenaid. The last email I received was 7/2/19 saying defianty will receive prize and they would get back to me as soon as possiable about delivery after speaking to Kitchenaid still not heard anything since.

From that it would seem that, although the comp was being run by Delia, Kitchenaid are responsible for actually sending the prize. I feel sure that Deliaonline will be pushing for this to be delivered but there is no reason why you should not email them and, politely, ask where things stand as you have heard nothing for 2 weeks. You need to allow time for Delia to contact Kitchenaid but Delia may not know that it hasn't been sent unless you tell them.
Don't get aggressive, just be polite and it will get delivered.

One of the longest saga's I had was when I was advised of a win on 24th June and the prize was eventually delivered on 7th October. That also was a case of one company running the comp and a different one supplying the prize. A lot of the delay was the communications between the two.
