Because cashback websites use cookies to track which cashback referral sites you've visited. Sometimes if you've visited the site you're interested in earning cashback for before you go to it via the cashback website, the site will put it's own cookies on your machine which can override the cashback cookies and so your visit via quidco or w/e won't track properly.

Cookies are just small files that your web browser stores on your computer that contain information about sites that you visit. Cookies are written at the request of a website and generally they're used to track bits of information about your browsing session (like say the last time you visited the site).

If you're going to be visiting the same referral site to try and get two lots of cashback then it would be best to use two unique email addresses, one for each of the two cashback sites quidco and pigsback. Note for some cashback bonuses where you have to enter you real name/address (ie anywhere really where you need to submit a credit/debit card), you probably won't be able to claim more than once for each cashback offer.

I have a spreadsheet I've been using to keep track of the 'free money' quidco offers but it's not complete yet. I'm going through the list of free offers on the first page of this thread, visiting the quidco page for each item and then copying all the relevant info from that page. This is taking some time even with some spreadsheet magic (macros) :(

EDIT: Just had a brainwave whilst writing this reply - Google Docs allows you to share spreadsheets publicly and also more importantly allows you to let people add their own entries to the spreadsheet using an online form. This way people can add their own Quidco 'free money' offers as and when they find them.

There is one caveat - you need to have a Google login to view the spreadsheet. Google logins are free though (goto http://www.google.com/ and click 'sign in', then follow the instructions to sign up for a new account).

Once you've got a google account, you can view the spreadsheet online here:

Spreadsheet with all 'free money' quidco offers

You can also copy the spreadsheet and edit it to your hearts content if you've got a google login.

If you don't have a Google login but want to see the spreadsheet anyway:

Publicly visible Quidco Free Money offers spreadsheet in HTML format (requires no Google login)

The coolest part - to add new Quidco 'Free Money' entries to the spreadsheet, fill out the form here:

Add your own quidco 'Free Money offer to the spreadsheet

(or click on the 'Go to live form' link at the top of the spreadsheet)

Just really starting out with this, if there's enough demand for it I might carry on updating it/maintaining it, etc. Suspect there might not be enough take up though since it requires a google login and also it could get very tedious to monitor/maintain after a while, would be better to have a bespoke system written in PHP or similar, but don't really have the inclination to do that to be honest.

Would be very useful though to have a central db of all the 'free money' offers available via Quidco along with other info such as how easy it is to get the cashback and whether you require a credit/debit card to get the cashback - especially if everyone can contribute to it to keep it up to date with the latest 'free money' offers. Saves having to trawl through a thread like this one where the list of free money offers isn't updated that often.

I suppose this kind of thing really needs it's own thread but to be honest I'm not sure if I can dedicate enough time to this! Hence I'm slipping the idea in on a thread that's about Quidco 'free money' offers just to see what ppl think... :)

Looks good and great idea of yours!

You have got Kelkoo down at 0.50 though:eek: if only !!

    Hi,

Just wondered does anyone know if there is any chance of getting an enquiry rechecked after it's been returned unsuccessful? my TSB home insurance came back and they won't pay out! I was really careful to do everything right too! They didn't give a good excuse either! Really annoyed as it was actually £20 more expensive than staying with TESCO! Suppose shouldn't rely on the cashback but still really annoying! Anyone got any ideas of any way forward or should I just mark it down to experience?

    Thanks in advance

Cheers for that - yes I've only checked a few of the items in the spreadsheet so far - what I did was just copy/paste all the offers from post one of this thread into the spreadsheet just as a starting place really. I hope to go through the items one by one and enter the current info for each offer.

Also I was thinking it'd be an idea to have a 'date added' column to indicate when an item was added to the spreadsheet to give people an idea of which 'free money' offers are new.

On that subect, there's another feature of google docs where you can subscribe to the spreadsheet as an RSS feed which means if you read RSS feeds regularly in an RSS reader, you can automatically see any new 'free money' items as they're added to the spreadsheet (well I presume that's how it works, haven't checked it out yet!).

Of course the potential for abuse with people just adding any old rubbish to the sheet is always there, plus there's maintaining it as each item will need to be 'moderated' (ie checked on quidco site, edited to read properly, etc). Having said that noone's added anything yet hehe... so *shrugs*.

Is an idea though for keeping a central 'database' of all current 'free money' offers - it's not possible for anyone other than the originating poster on this thread (or a moderator/admin) to update the original post/OP with modifications/additions to the list of 'free money' offers. This google docs idea is a cheap and cheerful way to maintain an up to date list.

Re keeping it up to date/sharing responsibility of maintaining the 'free money' quidco spreadsheet:

Google docs have a concept of a 'collaborator' for determining who is allowed to edit a google document - basically means that anyone who's named as a collaborator can edit the google spreadsheet/document as well as the original author. This would make it possible to have as many people 'responsible' for keeping the data up to date in the spreadsheet as required.

Google documents also use the concept of 'versioning' to keep track of changes made to a document, so if a collaborator does mess it up then there's always the option to 'go back in time' to a version of the doc that wasn't messed. All very cool really :)

o0o and also there's even an option to discuss a document - if two or more people are editing or looking at the spreadsheet at the same time, you can discuss the document with them in real time :) Another smart feature is that one person can 'see' exactly what the other person is looking at in the spreadsheet/document.

So, all in all, quite a bit of scope for managing a centrally located db of 'free money' quidco offers without the hassle of setting up a brand new web app from scratch.

    Pocado

Pocado.com is a great FREE to register online dating site. We are different to other dating services on the web: it's specially designed for genuine people seeking serious relationships.
For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:
    £3

It showed up as £3 on the page, but validated and received at £4.50!

What did you have to do for pocado - you have to subscribe to one of the paid services or something because when I tried just doing a basic sign up without subscribing all I got was a bunch of 'xyz has viewed your profile! subscribe to see her message' 'spam' from them - nothing about it tracking or validating. :(

    More quidco hit-n-miss no doubt.
