Did you have a hsbc account already? As I applied for one yesterday and got a message saying they would take about 3 days and might need proof of id so I don't know if they will contact me by phone or email or what. I was going to fund it through my halifax accountThanx

Yes, I am an existing customer so it was done in under a minute for me. I have read that some "new to bank" customers had it track successfully. They'll just ask you for proof of ID if they do a voters roll search and can't find you. You can fund it through your Halifax account as soon as they send you your sort code and acc number. I think they should contact you by email or by letter, they usually do one of those.

i dduno why the hsbc saver accounty requires a credit check . bearing in mind that your only saving money and not borrowing it, it seems very steep to me
a mate of mine whos not working tried to apply and he got rejected - are they saying that some people who dont work dont save any money ?- !!!!!!0 -
I've been checking quidco for my house insurance and natwest came out at £168 for buildings and contents no accidental cover 2 bed semi and less £100 cashback = £68 not bad for the year.
I think some firms are cottoning on to this now (Lloyds TSB) but in the past this has certainly been possible.0 -

I got my welcome letter from hsbc bonus saver. I don't have a current account with them but I sent just the £1 min opening balance over from my halifax account for now.
It said in the letter I have to ring a number to set up security details for accessing my account online which I will have to do as its an online account only. Should I wait until the transaction has actualy gone through on quidco as at the moment nothing is showing as tracked. because it says applications must be made solely online I didn't want to affect my cashback by ringing to set up the online security for internet banking.
Do you think its ok to leave it and wait till its tracked?Thanx

Hi .. I am in the same situation as you, but the thread link below suggests it is possibly just a late or non tracking situation.
There are instances of new customers tracking in 2 days - Are they likely to have registered or paid anything in to trigger tracking off ? As I really like the look of other HSBC accounts, I will probably register and pay something in today, and then if necessary see if the Quidco ticket process is as bad as other postings have suggested.

I would be interested to hear what you do, or from anyone else with info.
