How exactlly does this thing work?

Do you have to buy something of a site through quidco?
Or can you earn money from just searching through quidco?

Is it possible for some-one to explain to this numoty (me) how to do this or point me to the post that explains it please?

Lol, I can't be bothered to find the post, so here goes:

usually you've got to buy something, so say you're buying something from Marks and Spencer, you go through Quidco - ie log into Quidco, go to Marks and Spencers in the list of retailers, and click through to M&S and buy what you want, and Quidco gives you 5% for what you spent in M&S - e.g. £5 if you spent £100 back.

Bascially if you get into the habit of going through Quidco first everytime you're going to buy anything online you should get a nice bit of cashback after a while.

There are some retailers where a purchase is not required, currently only Kelkoo and High Street Web, which pay commission to Quidco - and Quidco then pays it to you, for just searching on their site, i.e. typing in a word e.g. 'socks', searching and clicking through to one of the results links. Kelkoo pays 2p per day (occasionally 10p if you find keywords that are on its old payout system, e.g. 'work boots' at the mo). High Street Web pays 4p, which can be done twice a day - leave a few hours between goes though.

Tips: Clear your cookies between visits, especially if you've been to the site before and not gone through Quidco, eg through an insurance comparision website then returned to site for Quidco cashback, to minimise the risk that the site you went to it from, eg Google, insurance comparison site gets the credit for referring you rather than Quidco.
Cashback is not guarnateed - Quidco state that they will only pay out if they get paid by the retailer.

Do you think we can start a new thread, close this one and link to it, and have an explanation at the top, rather than people understandably repeat questions rather than trawl through 70 odd pages? I know some threads do this, e.g Free Cinema Tickets?

Think of Quidco as the middleman that is on your side in a transaction. Normally, you may see an advert banner for a product on a site you frequent. Let's say you want to buy this item and you click the advert and get taken to the Currys website. Once the transaction is complete and you have bought a toaster etc.., Currys or their advertising partner will pay a percentage or a fixed fee to the site where you clicked on the advert, as a referral fee.

Quidco is much like this, instead of clicking on an advertisement, you click a link to the site that you want to buy an item or service from. Quidco, as the middleman or referer, gets a percentage of your transaction or a fixed fee for referring you to the company. Quidco then gives you this money once it is received for a fee of £5.00 a year. Should you not earn anything, you don't pay and you can't get into a negative balance from the fees.

To earn money from Quidco, you can take up free offers, trials or buy something through a company listed on Quidco. There was one offer on Quidco which would get you a £1 just for downloading the 4oD (4 on demand) client and required no spend or divulging of payment details :)

Be warned that Quidco payments (ie the payment from retailer to quidco) may not be 100% successful, in which case you can send an enquiry via the Quidco website to get it resolved.

[edit] doh, beaten to it! :)

This appear to have gone now - moneysupermarket.com just seem to be offering £20 for a broadband confirmed switch.

Not showing but I've been getting a quote for the last couple of days since they removed the link and have a couple of 20p tracked - might pay out! (Maximum 5 times!)

Dont bother with this offer through quidco!!! I ended up paying my £12 for a month by accident. To top it off i didnt even get my £7.50 through quidco as Blockbuster claim "They are no longer working with this client!!"
