Insurance (car)

Hi all

Me AGAIN! Sorry! :D

Our car insurance was paid in full in May 2018 as husband failed credit check due to his own BR. Checked all documents (using search tool for specific key words) and see nothing about BR or similar.

Do i need to inform them? Are they likely to use it against me in event of a claim?

Thanks
L

Are they likely to use it against me in event of a claim?

The rules about the information required for an insurance policy has changed. The burden is now on the Insurance company to ask [relevant] questions rather than the insured to give chapter and verse. So if you have filled the form truthfully, then no worries. But ...

If you are the cautious type, you'll give them a call and ask. Plus asking for either confirmation or a Subject Access Request which should show you asked the question. [I'm am belts, braces and superglue kind of person]
Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

The law is like an ocean - have a swim but don't drown.
  • Thank you. To my recollection they didnt ask and as my husband was at the time, we would have said. I am also a dotting the i's kind or person :) i suppose im just worried they will say no, its cancelled and then im 3-4 months of insurance out of pocket as its all paid up.
