first time buyer total novice

anyone help?
I have moved in with my partner who is already buying the house (mortgaged with 40k equity)
I would like to buy into the house by giving him half the equity and getting my name on the mortgage and deeds. (he is happy for us to do this as we are getting married next year and I have the savings)
I have a help to buy Isa as I am essentially a first time buyer. does anyone know can I use the help to buy Isa in these circumstances? getting on the mortgage will not be a problem, full time secure employment etc.
I am guessing I would need to go through a solicitor to get my name on the deeds? would this be like purchasing the house from scratch? or just a legal adjustment?
it is all very grown up and new!

  • As far as I am aware you can withdraw the Help to buy ISA savings but it sounds like you will not be eligible to receive the government bonus.
