Doing a money transfer card (not a balance transfer) to move the loan will give you a bit more flexibility in repaying the rest of the loan off.
I've not used my overdraft for 12 months. I've been pretty sensible over the years and have been saving for a mortgage (savings are locked away) I will look into the money transfer thing and call my CC company.
Things have been pretty tight but the time out of work (4 weeks) made me pro active and I had a clear out on eBay and Gumtree. Dad who I care for has said I can have a clear out for him also - he's going to regret saying that! :j
Even better news, phone call this afternoon I have secured a job interview next month in almost the same field I was made redundant from, £22,000 so lots to prep for! Wish me luck!

Are you working 40 hours or 35 with an unpaid hour a day for lunch? Is £14450 PA before or after tax? Because if you are actually working 40 hours and this is before tax then it is below minimum wage. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Don't forget to use topcashback or quidco when you swap insurances or utilities

If you are living alone in a 2 bed flat then why not get a flatmate and sublet the other bedroom. I think this will literally halve your various outgoings and will improve your finances substantially.
Best of luck for your interview.Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.
Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.
Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But you can choose your hard.0 -
Best of luck with the interview. That would sort out your problem. I would definitely look into the money transfer card as I think that will help you in the short term in that the loan payments could reduce without costing you more in interest, in fact you would be saving on interest. Well done on not using an overdraft. You seem pretty sensible and have coped well in reduced circumstances if the only debt you have accrued since your circumstances changed is that £223 credit card bill.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Yikes that scares me! I'm Bipolar, so sharing my space is a no-go, I can't even share a hotel room with my best friend!
Appreciate the idea though!0
