Poor bank account conduct and mortgage application

Hi all,
I Have been told that I need to have better bank account conduct for a few months before applying for a mortgage and To tidy my spending up a bit.
My questions is - if I closed my bank account and opened a new one, would the lender still require 3 months statements from my previous bank account or would I have to wait 3 months of passing on the new one regardless?
As you can see I’m trying to speed things up!
Many thanks,

Who has told you that? Broker? Someone else?
What do you mean by poor account conduct?
If it means unauthorised overdraft there is a high liklihood this will be on your credit file. What do they say?0 -
Broker told me as I have a few gambling transactions on there0

Use a lender who will only ask for 1 bank statement or none?
Maybe find a new broker.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. There are many lenders who wouldnt even ask for bank statements, only if your proving income such as child benefit. Even so, many wouldn't scrutinise your transactions and spending habits, unless it seems that there is something particularly concerning.I am a Mortgage Adviser
