I did something very satisfying today...

In my professional capacity as a supporter of people with mental health problems, I supported a person with (much more than the 'usual') difficulties to open a parachute bank account, prior to assisting in reclaiming unlawful charges and missold PPI.
I can't tell you how good it felt. :D

Thanks, it is very good to know that this person will immediately be £160 a month better off as from today, as the offending bank will no longer be able to help themselves to the money in the account (hahahaha!). Honestly, I am so chuffed, I can't tell you. The CAB are going to be doing the bulk of the negotiating, I just needed to help out with the practical issues like accompanying to the bank etc. but we are hoping to get close to £4K written off for this person.

Thank you for your heartwarming post. As a mother of a person with severe mental health problems its good to know that there are people like you around who do make a difference to vunerable peoples lives. I used to deal with my persons financial affairs but they became suspicious of me so I dont get involved now. You lot don't get paid enough for the great support you give to families as well as clients. Gods work indeed:A

    Good work!!!!
  • Good for you - as well as helping the other person I bet it felt good to (in your head) stick 2 fingers up to the bank and think 'another customer you've screwed - but not any more!'

  • Newleaf, I work in a similar capacity and just wanted to say well done as I know what a big challenge that must have been, but what a great achievement it is, and a great way to pass on your DFW wisdom!
