PayPal money?

Hello, as most of you aware I’m currently bankrupt, ending in May 2019, I am following the Marie Kondo thing and trying to reduce the amount of stuff we don’t need in the house.

My question is, if I make money from things on eBay, get the money in PayPal and transfer it to my bank account (all traceable) will the OR ever want the money or is it mine to use? I’m keen to de clutter and use the money to treat my children to a day out or two or new clothes but I don’t want to do anything wrong.

Many thanks.

    Hi Clouds

I particularly asked the OR if we could sell surplus stuff to raise a few extra pounds and she said they were not interested in low value items. I suppose you're not talking about your solid gold grand piano but a few pounds here and there for things you no longer need. For example, I sold some clothes through a dress agency and made £40 which was handy and my husband sold some old mobile phones through ebay/paypal. She almost hinted don't tell us about it and we won't ask for it. I don't think they have time to check peoples bank accounts on a regular basis.
  • Thanks for the reply that’s really helpful. Yeah it’s only things with value of £10-20 one thing will fetch £50 I might just spread them out over different months :)
  • I too continued to use ebay/paypal to sell unwanted household items -OR is not interested in you selling low value domestic stuff.
