Does your boyfriend know about your debt caused by you continuing to maintain the same financial burden whilst on mat leave.
Make no sense to me that he wouldnt see this as partly his responsibility if in the 2 years you have racked up 14k debt whilst he has saved 20k. Its false economy.
My OH and I split all bills, renovations etc equally. However I dont commute (have a company vehicle) and earn more. Therefore i do the saving generally for paying off final balances etc early, emergency works such as a new boiler etc because my expenses are less. But the money is also being saved for when we have kids to go towards the shortfall in maternity as one salary wont suffice long term.
To be getting through so much money a month and have such high debt would suggest a budget needs to be considered.0 -
I appreciate that maybe I'm making my boyfriend sound a bit !!!!less here, which isn't the case at all.
Not in the slightest. Many people hide the true state of their finances from their partners/spouses. No one is judging you here. Merely suggesting that you tackle everything as a partnership that benefits you both, and your young one.0
