Getting UK Pension and living in EU

Hello Experts,

I think there are a few similar posts but have not found exactly what i am looking for so I am posting a new question, apologies if I am repeating it J

I am an EU national and i have been happily living and working in UK for over 30 years. I have contacted the HMR&C and have my quotation for the pension forecast so all is OK. I also have a couple of Private Pensions.

In a few years I will be retiring and i want to go back home -> Spain.

My question is about how to get my pension money here in sterling and get access to the money in Spain in Euros.

I am not very money orientated so I may be a bit naïve thinking to open an account in an online bank, or a bank that i can have 2 accounts one in sterling and one in Euros, so i can access my money in Spain without having to transfer the money between banks and paying transfer feeds etc.

I know also I need to think about the taxes too but that will be a different story, at the moment just think about the bank accounts

Any advice?

Much appreciate it

If you are an overseas resident DWP will pay State Pension into an overseas bank account in Euros or whatever is the currency of the country.

The payment used to be made by CitiBank and I don't think there is any charge for this.

Brexit "should" not make any difference to the payment even if it makes a difference to the entitlement - they make payments to a huge number of non EU countries.

Yes, currently it's really easy, you just have to tell DWP your bank details....SWIFT, account number etc and the money will be deposited in your local currency.
