Anybody here have any experience of these two companies vis a vis crystallising a pension, taking PCLS and initiating a drawdown pension.
Trying to work out who is best.
Without a fiiiiiiiggggghhhht.

I’m with HL and I found them very good at the point of crystallisation and drawdown. At the time the market was very unstable so although I had completed all of the paperwork I wanted to be able to stop or delay the process at the last minute if the market took a tumble. HL were very good in that we agreed that I could call them up at the last minute and delay the timing.
I know many on this forum will claim the HLs ongoing charges are slightly higher than AJ Bell but I’m happy to pay a bit more for good service which HL provide.0 -
I have had investment accounts with both and they are both reasonably competent - and have both made errors that I have had to chase them to correct. I don't believe HL customer service is better than AJ Bell so it would just come down to an analysis of the fee structure against your circumstances, trade pattern and investment types.

I have my flexi-access drawdown with AJ...no problems so can recommend but have no experience of HL.We have a climate emergency and need to re-think investing strategies to avoid sectors that are part of the problem such as oil & gas and embrace climate-friendly options such as renewable energy.0

I have SIPPs with both. Customer service has been good from both so far.0
