Worst commute on Northern Trains?

Yet there are lots of "modern" trains in storage, being scrapped etc., which are far younger than the Pacers/Sprinters that are still in daily use (and likely to be for many more years in the case of Sprinters). That looks like more a matter of poor planning than under investment.
The only trains in storage are electric, which won't be much good for most of the Northern network, now electrics have started running on some services via Bolton it will free up some diesels.
The only trains which have been scrapped recently are older trains from the 1970s and old Eurostar sets0
