disposable income?

Readytochange, once your SOA is completed and working to direct a monthly budget that you're happy with, that "surplus" figure dictates not only your disposable income, but also how much per month you're likely to be able to overpay to debt.
"Disposable income" for me - debt and mortgage free but with certain aims to be saved for, currently, will be very different from someone with identical income and outgoings, but no savings goal, and different again from someone with debt and a mortgage. To try to just compare your situation with anyone elses is like comparing apples and oranges.
When you're trying to pay down debt, best to budget for absolutely everything, plus a small emergency fund, and then question ANYTHING else that you are considering spending money on.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

nothing, after all our direct debits and debts go out we have £450 a month for all other costs - food petrol, clothes, entertainment, work expenses etc we barely manage each month and we are making near enough minimum payments on debts, have nothing left to cut down on, I have 2 jobs husband works reduced hours to make sure kids are collected after school, we are on Univesal Credits and this will be our situation for another 3 years probably until loan is payed off freeing around £149 to pay towards credit cards.DMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳
