    Morning all

Not so sunny here today but hoping it will appear later I have my work clothes in the wm and would like to hang them out, OH washed his last night as he was clearing a loft at work ready to build an extension in, and it was filthy, multiple layers of insulation with rat runs between the layers and so much rat poo and dead rat bodies  he was so dirty he looked like a chimney sweep but he felt so disgusting he washed his hair three times before the black stopped coming out  so his clothes went straight in on a boil wash !!

Quick tidy round this morning then off out to get the shopping in for the week, and I need to pop into halfords.

The log man is coming this evening at five, he normally comes in the morning and I make him a coffee and bacon sandwich and he loiters for a while, I hope he doesn't loiter tonight as that's approaching dinner time.

I have a pork loin thing to cook tonight and will do some garlic cubed potatoes and veg with it.

TA you need a 'Roger' :D my mum has one and he looks after several of the ladies round the road  he will cut the grass and trim things back for her, keep a look out in the local papers.

    Have good days all xx

  • Morning all, I've been quite busy this morning, useful things like reading the paper and getting stuck on the crossword.
We had a lively day yesterday and today seems good too so washing can go out to dry, towels both days. I thought the towel pile was a bit small, DS had moat of them upstairs. He likes a fresh one every shower and that's fine but I'd prefer him to use a smallish one and not a monster bath cheetah ho hum.
Thursday's interview did go well, they confirmed yesterday that they want me to take on work for them and I've already had DBS forms in the post. I'm surprised that they do this on paper, there is a cost to setting it up online but it is vastly more efficient I W's getting people's disclosures back in a very short time. Up to them of course.
I was cream crackered last night, went to bed very early but didn't actually sleep for ages but it must have been enough as I feel refreshed.
No cooking for me this weekend as OH always does Saturdays and I do Sunday but am going out tomorrow afternoon so he will provide. I cooked last night instead, southern fried chicken, chips, coleslaw and salad - the coleslaw was bought though, not home made.
I need to Hoover through but that's all I can be bothered with today.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.

Well my haircut went well yesterday and we all tried to put the world to rights ..... for 2hrs :D. Since " Dai the milk " retired it's the next best place for local gossip :rotfl: So I'm light headed as my hair is now in a layered bob and just down to chin level, I didn't want to go to my usual shortish as it would be too cold for my delicate ears :rotfl:.
While I was there I bumped into Joan's son who was booking my hairdresser for his Mum. She has finally had to go into a home and she's not a happy bunny to say the least..... but her mind is no longer coping and she was a danger to herself and others . Downside is that they will have to sell next door to pay her fees :(. I hope that I'm as lucky as TA but I think it's a doer upper, as in an old ladies house and will probably be bought by a developer. ( I hope they sell it then, rather than rent it out ).
I don't know what today will bring, there is certainly nothing planned. I can't do anything in the garden as it's wet underfoot and there is no housework that has to be done ( the house is reasonably tidy for a change :rotfl: ) I was thinking of doing some baking but at the moment I cba. We'll see how things pan out.
I will have a freezer dip for a chicken for tomorrow and I'm also hoping to unearth some sliced gammon left over from Xmas. That will do for tea with some oven chips.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday whatever you are doing.
Hugs to all and take care today.
    nan xx

  • Afternoon folks. Well my bus trip turned into a short bus trip to the next little town along! Just as I was setting off DS texted to see if I would be around if he joined me for a late lunch! It was the AGM of the village cricket team at 1.30 and he wanted to spend an hour with me first. I made sure I was back and fished out some of the beef casserole that I had frozen last week. Accompanied with some warm crusty part baked rolls.

Anyway he is going to be my temporary Roger! He said the hedge is looking a bit of a mess I'll try and get up tomorrow to cut it! Without me even mentioning it! I can't expect him to take on the garden as well though so I am still on the look out for a Roger! Meanwhile I'll plod on doing little and often when I can. I have always done the gardening by myself and can't believe how much harder it is this year with my ailing hips and knees. Plus, of course, with Bob so ill last summer and into autumn the garden never got touched, making it doubly bad this spring.

Well the sun is shining (albeit with a nippy wind) so I might have a few minutes in the front garden and try and dispose of a few more weeds. Then I might put an ad on the Nextdoor Digest and see if anybody knows of a local Roger! It's a pity we are all so widespread on here as it seems quite a few of us are in need of one!

Enjoy the rest of your day folks if poss xx

    Afternoon folks.

My morning was busy - I did DM's shopping in three different shops, took her PB cheque to the bank, called in to a book shop and bought two books for DM, dropped stuff off at the tip and sat down for 20 mins drinking coffee and reading the paper. DM finds opening the plastic boxes of soup really difficult (it's those with a tab) so I've found soup in a pouch which she likes those it's not stocked in the 'main shopping' place.

Then I headed home. The trip was dry though a little slow as there seems to be tourists even in February. These tourists like to look at the scenery as they're driving and seems scared by bends and oncoming traffic. I'm vaguely tolerant of them, on the outside!

Just as I arrived home a neighbour drove past, reversed and called in to see me. It wasn't a long visit but nice that he and his wife were thinking of me.

Now I need some tea. My heated throw is warming up so I'll soon be under it.

I hope that all's well with folks.

Afternoon all. A late one from me as we took Dd and Dgs (4) to Portishead to try out his new bike with pedal. He has been using a balance bike. By lunchtime he had got thr hang of it but can't go that far before he caves in and puts his feet down lol! A bit more practice needed.

    HH take it steady.
Healing vibes for all the poorlies. Enjoy the rest of Saturday everyone..

At least if you were on the esplanade, you have a fair distance to go before you have to stop and turn around. We often see little ones learning along there.
