Nationwide Fixed expires

Our 2 year fixed at 4.79% expires at the end of this month with the Nationwide. We have looked into their offers and the best we think is the fixed 5 year rate of 5.63% with no fee (£499 would have had to be paid if were were not already customers). We also looked at the 2 year at 6.48% but don't want to be paying £36 more a month than we already are.
We arranged this over the phone and they are sending the papers through. If we are quick, we will meet the deadline of the 30th November as it takes 7 days from when they receive it to go through.
Anyone think this is ok?

Are you sure you don't have to pay a fee, i used to be a mortgage advisor for them im sure the 5 yr fxd is a 399 fee. Have a shop around im sure you will be able to find a much better deal than Nationwide0

If you are an existing Nationwide mortgage customer whose deal is coming to an end then they have a 'switcher' special. 5 year fix with no fees.
You could always make an appointment with a broker and have them search the market for you to see if it can be beaten but its a good deal imo. Its a shame it came out shortly after I had remortgaged to the Halifax at 5.79% over 5 years otherwise I would have taken it.0 -
I got an agreement on this rate in the branch today! I think it's a very good offer and on moneysupermarket.com was showing as one of the top products even when the £499 fee is taken into consideration! The mortgage advisor I saw in the branch said it was very popular. Good luck in getting this in time.
Kez - there is no arrangement fee for existing customers but for new customers there is a fee of £499 so it looks like Nationwide are looking fter existing customers0 -
