Moorcroft contacting me

Hi all

I was declared BR in May 2018 and have recently received a letter from Moorcroft on behalf of Sainsbury's for a loan of around 4k that I had. This was included in the BR, but they are now chasing it.

My credit report shows no active accounts, all closed so really unsure what to do.

The Sainsbury's loan was in my maiden name (BR in my married name) as I must have forgotten to change my details with them, but on my BR paperwork it provides both names on it, my married name and previously known as name, so I don't understand?

Moorcroft are now asking for proof of my name change, so would this be a marriage certificate?

Thanks, really stressing me out as I thought I wouldn't have to deal with this now I'm declared BR

Thanks

Do you have to prove anything? Wouldn't you just point them in the direction of the OR and let them deal with it?

    Hi,

This should not be a "stress" for you, its par for the course someone will come out of the woodwork, asking for money, you should be prepared with letters already written to respond to things like this.

You are bankrupt, and non of your creditors have any remedy against that, Moorcroft just mange debts on behalf of there client banks, a simple letter telling them your bankrupt, and enclosing a copy of your bankrupcy order should be all you need to do.

At the bottom of the letter, to prevent prolonging the exchange, just refer them to your OR, and give a contact number and address for them.

You must of been expecting something like this to pop up, surely.

  • Pity Moorcroft, theyve probably bought the debt (for 15% face value) with no chance of ever collecting, or they are being paid to chase their tails.

either let them or put them out of their misery
