Cold Like Symptoms from Chocolate ??

Is it possible to get cold-like symptoms from chocolate ?

last night (my birthday) i had a couple of pieces of chocolate cake and was as fit as a fiddle .. Now today I have a runny nose and an awful sore throat.

Funny question maybe ... But wait !

many years ago while working in Southern Africa I seemed to get the same whenever I ate a certain brand of chocolate. At that time I thought it strange, but remember it happening a few times.

What, like an allergic reaction? Have you taken an antihistamine?

Or maybe, it's the changeable weather and you have got a cold.

Do you drink coffee or tea, if not maybe it is a reaction to caffeine? I'm in the middle of caffeine withdrawal and have been in a bad way with sore muscles, lethargy and depression for 2 days!

A cold wouldn’t hit you that quick. It would be from being infected a few days prior
