Hi All,

Has anyone else heard of this??

I think there has been another thread on here about the same topic. If you put conkers on the threshold of your house (I keep a few on my windowsills and by my front door) then the spiders won't come in - I guess they don't like the smell.0

I've heard of it.. whether it works or not I have no idea.. beating them to death with my shoes works pretty well at keeping them in check!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Did some quick research and it appears to be an old wives tale. Especially if you take into account that you can't see most spiders in your house.
Apparently mothballs work probably cos they smell so unpleasant.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

It didn't work for me - I live on a boat and we get heaps of spiders. Tried conkers and a log cut from a horse chestnut tree, so I think it's an old wives tale.0

Hi My cousin from Aussie told me Jayes fluid spread around doorways and windows keeps spiders away
Was only told on Sat not had a chance to try yet!Only two big facts are known for certain: you are on a large, spinning rock hurtling through lonely space at about 67,000 mph, and one day your body is going to die. Will a new pair of shoes really help?

I wonder if you are meant to thread the conkers and splat the spiders with them... or hang them up and that scares them??
My cat catches them anyway.. and runs outside with them in his mouth...
Hubby (if he gets to them before the cat) picks them up and throws them over the wall so they go in next doors house instead of coming in mine!!! lol.. hey it works for me!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Leave the poor spiders alone. They're the good guys, eating the nasty germ carrying flies. : )0

why did i look at this thread, i thought it worked!
I've got conkers on my windowsills in my toilet bathroom and bedrooms, i dont care about the downstairs as it's easier to kill them then.
And i dont care what they get rid of, i have an irrational fear of them so they have to die.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0
