I am an employee and have just started a 15% salary sacrifice going towards my pension from work. The employer contributes another 4%.
If I were ever to move roles:
1) Is my basic considered to be X (or) X-15%
2) will my P45 mention X (or) X-15%
3) if asked what my basic is - am i ok to say X without disclosing salary sacrifice?
Please would someone help

If I were ever to move roles:It depends on your employer. Our employer has stated that if asked (by mortgage / credit card companies etc.) they would always quote the pre-sacrifice amount.
2) will my P45 mention X (or) X-15%It will show how much you have been paid for tax purposes (i.e. X-15%).
3) if asked what my basic is - am i ok to say X without disclosing salary sacrifice?I would be quoting my pre-sacrifice amount, especially as I currently sacrifice 45% of my salary and I work with others who are sacrificed down to minimum wage which wouldn't be much use if looking for a new job!
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0 -
X is your reference salary.
Mortgages, bank accounts etc will use your reference salary but usually still ask for your net income anyway.0
