Council Tax

How can I find out if the council tax discount for a single person occupancy (25%) has been applied?

Thanks

Phone up the council and ask them?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No idea. What does your local council website say?

If you have only just moved into a property or have just recently notified them of a change of circumstances then it will take them a while to action the change on their computer systems.

I don't know if my council was particularly slow, but it literally took about 3 weeks to get a bill when I moved in, even though I notified them online the day I moved in.

If you didn't take any records of your notification (screenshots if doing online etc) then I'd call up if you haven't heard anything after 2 weeks. If you have records of the notification I'd wait 3 weeks or so before querying by phone.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

3 weeks is fast - many councils are now running on 4 weeks+.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
